IT WAS NOT UNLIKE A TIME BEFORE GOODBYES WERE SAID IN TIMES OF WAR,

FRIENDS WERE MADE, FRIENDS WERE LOST,

FEELINGS WERE SHARED, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST

MEN MET AND KNEW EACHOTHER,

IN THREE MINUTES TIME HE WAS A  BROTHER,

IT'S DONE NOW, THE WAR OF TEN THOUSAND DAYS

NOTHING HAS CHANGED, THERE ARE NO CHANGING WAYS

YEARS HAVE PASSED BY, THE FIGHTING GOES ON,

HE FIGHTS FOR HIS HEART NOW TO KEEP IT UNTORN,

HE WON'T SHOW HIS FEELINGS, HIS FACE IS STONE

HIS SMILE IS A MASK, INSIDE HE'S ALONE,

HE'LL SHARE SOMETHING NOW AND THEN

HE'LL  LET IT SLIP BY, FOR THE TOUCH OF A FRIEND,

HE'LL HOLD BACK  A TEAR, NOT BECAUSE HE'S A MAN,

BUT BECAUSE SO MANY WERE SHED, WHEN HE SAW DEATH'S HAND,

HE'S DESPERATE, HE'S ANGRY,

HE'S YOUNG YET OLD,

HE'S LONGING, HE'S WAITING,

FOR SOMEONE TO HOLD,

IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME,
THE WAR'S NOT OVER,

FRIENDSHIPS WERE MADE, THEN LOST FOREVER,

HE'LL SEE A FACE THAT HE WANTS TO KNOW,

HE'LL TURN AWAY, AWAY AND GO

HE'S SEEN THE FACE BEFORE,

IT WAS IN THE PAST,

IT WAS IN A DREAM,

AND DREAMS DON'T PASS.
